To the south of the Kingdom of Egypt lay several ancient African Kingdoms-Nubia, Moors, and the Kush. Piankhi, a Nubian was the ruler who united these ancient Kingdoms. Like Menes, the first pharaoh, Piankhi conquered the kingdom of Egypt. Piankhi became the first ruler of the 25th Egyptian Dynasty.
